Here are highlights in history for July 30, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1991 — Dennis Baldus, athletic director and head football coach at Albert Lea High School since 1987, announced his resignation. He had accepted the position of assistant principal at Chaska Middle School.
1981 — Paul Shea retired from the position of area manager of the state’s JOB Service Office located in Albert Lea. He had been a part of the Minnesota Department of Economic Security for 35 years.
1951 — Derold Morfitt was the new manager of the Marshall-Wells store in Albert Lea. He had previously owned a store in Hartley, Iowa.
