Here are highlights in history for Aug. 1, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1992 — An 18 ounce can of Van Camp’s pork and beans was on sale for 39 cents at Osco Drug in the Skyline Mall. Also available were Troll dolls in many new styles.
1982 — A Tribune ad announced that Arrow Printing would be moving from 220 W. Clark St. to 514 W. Main St. near the viaduct.
1952 — Russell Voigt, news editor of the Tribune, was honored by the Associated Press for his coverage of the Manchester tornado.
