ROCHESTER — Rochester police say a 2-year-old child and two men were stabbed by an intruder Thursday.

Police say a man armed with knife broke into a home about 6 a.m. while the occupants were sleeping. A woman in the home was awakened by a noise and found the intruder in the toddler’s bedroom. Her brother and a male guest confronted and fought with the intruder.

When police arrived, the male suspect jumped out of the window and ran. Officers used a police dog to chase the man and make an arrest.

Capt. Brian Winters said it appears the intruder and victims knew each other. A 4-year-old child in the home wasn’t hurt. Winters says one victim was stabbed in the abdomen. The condition of the victims is not known.
