Albert Lea police are investigating a report that a checkbook was taken from a local home about 1:40 p.m. Monday. Two teenage girls selling magazine subscriptions stopped at a residence on North Eighth Avenue and asked to use the bathroom. While in the residence one of the girls allegedly stole the homeowner’s checkbook.
