According to reports, an officer was called to the park at about 7:30 p.m.
A group of kids were reportedly bullying a boy — hitting him and throwing rocks at him — when the boy threw an 8-inch steak knife at them.
No one was injured.
The boy with the knife had brought it from home to help cut a rope that he was using to climb a tree, police stated.
An officer spoke to the children on both sides of the fight and no charges are expected.
Toddler missing twice
A young child was reportedly missing from his house twice Wednesday and was found several blocks away.
According to Albert Lea police, the toddler was reported missing the first time at about 1:50 p.m. Reports stated the father had stepped out for a minute to smoke a cigarette when the child slipped out through another entrance.
After about 10 minutes of not being able to find the child, the father called police.
The child was found in front of the Freeborn County Historical Society on Bridge Avenue.
In the second instance, but for the same toddler, a couple people walking around Fountain Lake found a child at 8 p.m. near the intersection of High Street and North Shore Avenue.
An officer found the mother out looking for the child while taking the child to the Law Enforcement Center.
The family was expected to meet with county child protection staff.
