Chris Throne faced just 18 batters Monday as Lake Mills (17-4) beat Garner-Hayfield 17-0.
Throne gave up just one hit in the five inning game, while striking out eight and walking three.
“Chris was dominant on the mound,” head coach Jason Blaser said. “The defense played well behind him.”
Offensively, Throne backed his pitching performance by going 3-for-5 with a single, double and a triple and knocked in three runs.
Josh Zabel hit a three-run home run in the fifth, an inning where 13 Bulldogs players batted, and Drey LyBarger went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple. All together, Lake Mills had six extra base hits.
“It was good to see the guys hit the ball really well,” Blaser said. “Even the five singles we had were hard hit balls.”
