Here are highlights in history for Aug. 25, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1991 — An article commented on the concept of Freeborn County having just one centralized high school in Albert Lea and Alden-Conger and Glenville-Emmons keeping their grade schools.
1981 — Eda Belsheim, a resident at St. John’s Lutheran Home, was preparing to celebrate her 100th birthday.
1951 — The Simon Hardware and Implement Co. of Albert Lea and Hayward sold its farm machinery part of the business to Paul Kepple.
