Here are highlights in history for Aug. 26, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1992 — A special page called “Totally Teens” was published. This page was part of the Newspapers in Education program.
1982 — The film choices at the Broadway Twin and Starlight Drive in Theaters for the weekend were, “Rocky III,” “E.T.,” “Porky” and “Young Frankenstein.”
1942 — Ardus Hall of the Hayward 4-H Club was selected to be the Freeborn County Style Queen. She was one of 57 participants in this event.
