Users can go to the site for sports videos and watch the games from their computers. One piece of advice: The stronger of an Internet connection users have, the better the broadcast will work.

This same technology is going to allow the Trib’s website to bring its web users live viewing of major news events, too. We have done this a few times before, but new technology is going to make it smoother and easier than previous attempts.

The first time viewers can a live broadcast is at the Albert Lea home football game against Waseca next Thursday. However, some vigilant web surfers might notice a few tests between now and then. If you enjoy seeing tests, why not watch tonight. Our sports guys will test the video broadcast at 7 p.m. today during the girls’ soccer game against Waseca.

The test might not last the entire game, and it might have a few bugs. But we think our web viewers enjoy it when they watch our website under construction. It’s part of the fun of being a user at AlbertLeaTribune.com.
