In addition to financial assistance, The Salvation Army is providing critical incident stress management support to communities. Minnesota Department of Public Safety officials said there “is a huge concern with mental health issues for youth” in communities affected by the tornadoes. Trained Salvation Army counselors will be at the Cyber Café in Wadena, a popular youth venue, on June 29 at 6 p.m. to offer support.

The Salvation Army will continue to provide food, beverages and emotional care to northern and southern Minnesota communities as cleanup efforts wrap up this weekend. As of Friday, the Salvation Army had served in excess of 20,000 meals, 70,000 drinks and 35,000 snacks.

Donations are needed to support The Salvation Army’s tornado response across Minnesota. All funds are used exclusively for the response. Donations designated “MN Tornado Response” can be made by calling 800-SAL-ARMY, online at thesalarmy.org or by mailing a check to 2445 Prior Ave. N, Roseville, MN 55113.
