Here are highlights in history for Sept. 7, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1992 — One of the daily features on the editorial page was the “Doonesbury” cartoon strip by Garry Trudeau.
1982 — An article featured Roger Bergeson, Arnold Biedermann and Mike Serhan, candidates for election to represent the 4th District on the Freeborn County Board of Commissioners.
1952 — The Albert Lea High School Tigers football team defeated the Mound High School Mohawks with a score of 13-7.
