There were 50 Salem members over 60 who celebrated together on Dec. 10. The Rev. Rolf Hangberg (interim pastor) offered a table prayer prior to a catered meal.

S.O.S. leader is Deb Beighley and her committee includes: Vicky Reichl, Mary Lahs, Rose Holty, Millie Knutson, Pearl Lindeman and Marcie Fure. Harriet Bartel had made special favors to decorate the tables, and Deb and Dean Beighley donated treats and candles to all.

Mary Wayne and Gail Thurnau provided a special program of Christmas songs, readings and Christmas memories.

The group enjoyed playing “White Elephant Bingo” until everyone had a gift.

Larry Lahs Sr. pleased the crowd by singing “Lutefisk, Oh Lutefisk.” The meeting closed with singing “Silent Night.”
