Sibley Elementary School has received a grant from the Perpich Center for Arts Education to integrate the arts into the fourth-grade curriculum. The students will be studying Native American culture throughout their classroom using visual art, music and dance integrated into their social studies curriculum. Sibley will receive $7,500 per year for a period of three years. The team of teachers at Sibley will be involved in staff development along with eight other southeastern Minnesota schools to plan for this curriculum work beginning in August.
