The Friends of the Albert Lea Public Library will have its annual meeting Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers with a brief business meeting followed by a presentation by featured author Brian Freeman, of Minneapolis, who sets his suspense novels in northern Minnesota. The meeting is open to anyone in the area who is interested in reading and supporting the public library. The goal of the group is to provide support for children’s programming at the library. A yearly membership fee is $5.
