Editorial: A simple thank you

Happy New Year.
This is the 313th newspaper the Albert Lea Tribune printed in 2009.
A lot of work goes into cranking out a daily newspaper, but it wouldn’t be possible without you, the reader.
People who read newspapers are educated. They are more likely to vote. They are better informed than people who get their news from the television and other sources. Newspaper readers tend to have greater responsibilities at work and at home. They are established, meaning they maintain a steady residence, buy from trusted businesses and have connections in their community.
In short, newspaper readers are people who care about their towns.
Thank you for reading the Albert Lea Tribune, and we wish you and yours prosperity and health in 2010.
