Chapter 469 NARFE members met April 10 at the Pizza Ranch in Austin. The program was about Social Security and was given by Debbie Brownrigg, district manager. She gave a brief history of Social Security which was started in 1935. She noted that Social Security is not intended to be a person’s sole retirement and was never meant to be. Brownrigg answered many questions to conclude her presentation.
During the business meeting president Jonathon Green noted that he and members Norma Naatz and Mary Lee Thompson will be attending the state NARFE Convention in Mankato. Some of the delegates expenses will be paid by the chapter. The chapter will also give a generous contribution to the Alzheimers Fund. Vice president Roger Erickson reported that Naatz will be replacing Peg Seath as chapter secretary for the new year.
The next NARFE meeting will be June 12 at the Pizza Ranch in Albert Lea. For more information contact Green at 373-8113 in Albert Lea or Ron Seath at 433-2024.
