Here are highlights in history for Sept. 15, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1983 — The Albert Lea Bowl, 424 1/2 S. Adams St., had opening for people to participate in two men’s leagues and a mixed league , according to their advertisement.

1973 — Because of a possible fuel shortage, School District 241 decided to lower classroom temperatures to 70-72 degrees during the colder months of the year.

1943 — The U.S. Navy was starting a new pilot training program at the Albert Lea Airport.
