The first meeting on the 2010-2011 for Unit 56 American Legion Auxiliary of Albert Lea was held Sept. 7.

President Janet Scherb presided. The meeting opened with the pledge of allegiance and the siging of the National Anthem. Secretary Vonnie Oftadahl gave the secretary’s report followed by the treasurer’s report by Rita Andersen.

Scherb announced the following chairmen: Americanism and girls state, Pat Johannsen; children and youth, Karen Cibert; education, Angie Larsen; membership, Bonnie Schneider; legislative, Joyce Rhody; veterans affairs, Diane Shaunce; national security, Betty Anderson; Poppy, Sharon Anderson; and community service, Janet Scherb.

Beginning in October the Auxiliary meeting will be on the first Monday of the month.
