Here are highlights in history for Sept. 19, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1986 — An ad featured the winter hours for the United Skates Rink in Brownsdale. This roller skating rink was also available for private parties, according to this ad.
1976 — The Albert Lea Community Theatre’s first production of the season, “Camelot,” would be presented eight times at the Southwest Junior High School Little Theater.
1936 — A total of 900 people watched as the Mason City High School Mohawks defeated the Albert Lea High School Tigers 7-0 in the first game of the football season.
