Here are highlights in history for Sept. 20, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1987 — Bruce Nissly, formerly of Iowa Falls, Iowa, was the new director of the Albert Lea Convention and Visitors Bureau. He replaced Carrie Kruse in this position.
1977 — Albert Lea City Manager John Elwell resigned. He would become the city manager for St. Louis Park.
1957 — A project costing $60,000 was based on a submerged cable in Fountain Lake that would provide better telephone service for the Shoreland Heights area.
