Endorsing convention today

The new Minnesota Senate District 27 will hold its first endorsing convention today at the Albert Lea Union Center, 1407 N. Highway 13, Albert Lea.
Registration will start at noon, with the convention convening at 1 p.m. The main orders of business will include approval of the Constitution, election of party officers, ratification of District Central Committee members and the endorsement of Democratic candidates for Minnesota State Senate District 27, Minnesota state representatives for Districts 27A and 27B. Sen. Dan Sparks is the DFL incumbent for District 27, and Rep. Jeanne Poppe in the DFL incumbent for District 27B. The District 27A endorsement is open.
Minnesota Senate District 27 includes all of Freeborn and Mower counties in addition to Clark, Dunbar, Foster and Kiester townships in Faribault County, Hayfield, Vernon and Westfield townships in Dodge County and the city of Blooming Prairie in Steele County.
