The Albert Lea boys’ soccer team picked up their second win of the season Saturday as they beat Kasson-Mantorville 1-0 on the road.
“We’re clearly moving in the right direction,” Albert Lea head coach Elia Romano said. “This was another step forward.”
Tyler Shaw scored the Tigers’ lone goal 17 minutes into the second half.
The Tigers defense recorded their second shutout of the season.
“Our defense stepped up again today,” Romano said. “Cameron (Hove) kept us in the game with a couple of good saves along the day.”
The Tigers outshot K-M on the offensive end. The only other time the Tigers did that this season they also won.
“We’re generating more chances up front,” Romano said. “Our pass completions continue to rise so we’re not making careless turnovers like we were.”
The Tigers are in action again at 7 p.m. Tuesday as they host Mankato West.
