A high-risk sex offender arrested Saturday after he was reportedly missing for a month is facing charges of knowingly violating his predatory offender registration.

Authorities allege Brooks Daniel Fisher, 51, did not notify his correction agent or law enforcement that he planned to leave Freeborn County.

He had been missing since the end of March.

As a Level 3 offender, Fisher is required to tell authorities any time he moves, gets a new job, or changes his physical appearance.

He was charged by means of a warrant April 20.

Arrested Saturday, Fisher is now being held in the Freeborn County jail on a Minnesota Department of Corrections order.

Iowa authorities reportedly spotted Fisher driving northbound Saturday on Interstate 35 in a silver Dodge Durango with Ohio plates. He ultimately was pulled over on Ulstad Avenue near East Main Street.

Fisher, a Level 3 offender, was living on 903rd Avenue in the small Freeborn County town of London when he went missing. He had been in the community since April 2011 and was reportedly under Department of Corrections supervision.

According to court documents, Fisher had traveled to a residence in Golden Valley on March 30, “stating that he was in trouble and would be going to prison for a long time.”

He asked a couple to look after his two dogs and told them they could have whatever they wanted in his home.

Where Fisher traveled after that is unknown.

If he is found guilty, he will be sent to prison for a minimum of one year.
