Thomas Rhiger, 59, Burnsville

Funeral services for Thomas Donald Rhiger, of Burnsville, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel in Albert Lea, with visitation one hour before the service. The Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate.
Tom died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at his home in Burnsville. He was 59 years of age.
Tom was born Sept. 3, 1951, in Albert Lea, the son of Stanley and Abby (Hiler) Rhiger. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1969.
Tom made his home in the Twin-Cities metro area for the past 15 years and prior to that lived in Austin, Texas, and Albuquerque, N.M. He was employed as project manager for the ABM Company in Minneapolis.
He was a member of the “Elkhorn’s” and had a great love of music. Tom enjoyed cooking and animals, especially dogs. Family was everything to him. He cherished his friends who likewise adored him.
Tom is survived by his sisters and brothers; Susan Cornwell of Albert Lea, Joanne Rhiger and partner Diane of Minneapolis, Jeannette and her husband Bob Flatness of Albert Lea, Chuck and his wife Liz Rhiger of Albert Lea, Joel and his wife Dawn Rhiger of New Mexico. Nieces and nephews include: Brian Baldwin, Laura Cornwell, Chad (Mindy) Rhiger, Romie Rhiger, Tania Rhiger, Matthew Rhiger, Andrew Rhiger, Jason (Farrah) Olson, Jessica Rhiger, John Rhiger and Corina Rhiger. There are numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Tom will be truly missed by all the lives that he touched. A plaque in remembrance of our beloved brother and fr
