Here are highlights in history for Sept. 26, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1986 — The Albert Lea Inn Dinner Theatre would be featuring Kurt Weill’s, “From Berlin to Broadway,” starring Michelle and Michael Brindisi.
1976 — Dutch elm disease resulted in the loss of 391 trees in Albert Lea so far in the year. In 1975 the total of trees lost to this disease was 72.
1956 — A gymnasium with seating for 3,000 spectators was being proposed for the new Southwest Junior High School.
