MANKATO — Rain delays were an annoyance for the Tigers as they battled against Mankato East on Tuesday night.
“The hardest one was in the seventh inning with one out and two on,” Tigers coach Joe Sczublewski said. “It was a downpour and made the pitching mound very slippery.”
Sczublewski said considering the conditions, Tigers pitcher Dylan See-Rockers was able to “gut it out.”
The Tigers beat East 5-3 in the sixth inning after Logan Enderson hit a two RBI double to tie the game.
“We had guys on base, but we weren’t getting timely hits to knock them in, so that was a big boost to finally get even again,” Sczublewski said.
Following Enderson, Jonathan Fleek hit a single to give the Tigers a 4-1 lead.
Sczublewski said the Tigers added an insurance run when on a double steal, See-Rockers stole home.
“We’re happy to win and come back like we did,” Sczublewski said.
