The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Panthers outscored Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial 26-6 in the second half Monday, to beat the Knights 26-17 and remain undefeated.
“Once again the kids did what it took to come out with a win,” NRHEG head coach Dan Stork said. “It was a very difficult week for us with the flood and guys being sick, but the cardiac kids came through again.”
This was the Panthers third straight come-from-behind win. The victory means more to Stork, though, because of what his players went through over the weekend.
“The players were very busy setting up sand bags and then helping out with the cleanup around town while several of their own homes had major flood damage,” he said. “I am very proud of their character.”
Geoff Ramaker led the Panthers ground attack with 76 yards on 15 attempts.
Quarterback Sam Lundberg went 12-of-18 for 144 yards and a touchdown, and Chad Schlaak led the team in receiving with 72 yards on four receptions.
Dustin Esplan led the defense with 14 tackles
