Glenville Unit No. 264, American Legion Auxiliary is preparing for poppy distributions for the month of May. Glenville Mayor Wes Webb signed a proclamation as did Gov. Mark Dayton declaring May poppy month. Promoting the poppies will be the Glenville unit along with Junior Poppy Queen Lauren Fredrickson and Senior poppy Queen Sandy Fredrickson. This is a fundraiser used to support Veterans. Containers will be put in business places in Glenville and the two poppy queens will be at the Citizen State Bank Saturday morning distributing the poppies. They will also be involved in the Memorial Day ceremonies. This year’s unit poppy chairwoman is Arlene Hajek.
