Polka worship service

Published 9:15 am Friday, October 1, 2010

The United Methodist Church, Highway 69 South in Albert Lea, invites the public to a polka worship service on Sunday, Oct. 10, at 10:30 a.m.

The Stratford Rhythm Ramblers will lead the service. This four-piece band is well known in central and northwest Iowa. They play a wide variety of music: old favorites, country, waltzes, polkas and gospel. The words set to favorite pieces are words of praise and thanksgiving to God and are uplifting to the spirit. Members of the band are: co-leader, Charlie Claussen of rural Fort Dodge, Iowa. He is the vocalist and plays the keyboard and guitar. Co-leader Dixie Johnson of Stratford, Iowa, plays the accordion. Wayne Lautner of Churdan, Iowa, plays trumpet and Don Redman of Gowrie, Iowa, plays drums.

Everyone is welcome to this service at the church of open minds, open hearts and open doors.
