Men arrested for car break-ins

Albert Lea police arrested two men this morning who are believed to have been involved with a series of car break-ins in the Garfield and Richway area.
Albert Lea Police Chief Dwaine Winkels said Tommy Lee Zuniga, 19, and David Wesley Neely, 18, were arrested just after 1 a.m. today, after police received a call of two suspicious men at the intersection of Garfield Avenue and Richway Drive. According to police reports, the two men had parked a red car at the intersection of Garfield Avenue and Richway Drive and were walking toward Crestview Road. They were wearing hooded sweatshirts and carrying backpacks.
Winkels said Zuniga and Neely were arrested for theft.
Winkels asked the public to contact the Police Department if they have items missing from their vehicles in that area of town.
Police seized a radio, several sets of keys, a purse, a handgun, among other items.
House broken into
A burglary was reported at 811 Bridge Ave. at 7:21 a.m. Thursday, according to police reports. The house was reportedly ransacked sometime between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 3 a.m. Thursday, and a cell phone and camera were missing. There is an estimated loss of $350.
