Hartland man injured in crash

HARTLAND — A 79-year-old Hartland man was injured Sunday morning after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Freeborn County Road 31 and Minnesota Highway 13.
Francis Koziolek was flown to St. Marys Hospital by Mayo One helicopter where he remains in serious condition.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred at about 7:45 a.m. Sunday.
The report stated Koziolek, the driver of a 2004 Buick LeSabre, was eastbound on 300th Street when his car collided with a 2004 Ford pickup driven by Arthur Winjum, 64, of New Richland, who was driving southbound on Highway 13.
The gravel road Koziolek was driving on turns into Freeborn County Road 31 after the state highway.
The report stated the crash type as a broadside.
Winjum received no apparent injury.
Koziolek’s passenger, Margaret M. Koziolek, 77, received non-lifethreatening injuries.
The State Patrol report states Highway 13 was shut down temporarily to allow the Mayo One helicopter to land.
The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
