Fatal house fire in Elysian

The Waseca County Sheriff’s Office on Monday reported that a house fire in Elysian has taken a life of a man.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the body as that of Henry “Hank” Eustice, 49.

In a news release, the Sheriff’s Office said a woman, homeowner Susan Quiram-Eustice, escaped the blaze and called emergency responders at 4:46 a.m. from a neighbor’s house. It says at 5:23 a.m., firefighters found “one deceased male in the home.”

The house fire was at 43992 45th St., Elysian. The woman was uninjured. More information will be released pending the results of an autopsy.

Assisting agencies were Elysian, Waterville and Janesville fire departments, North Ambulance, the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office.
