Newman Catholic’s Drew Vestegen torched the Northwood-Kensett boys’ basketball team for 30 points in a 70-48 blowout victory over the Vikings Saturday in Northwood.

The Knights built a 38-22 lead at halftime and rolled in the second half as well. Michael Bohl added 17 for Newman.

Derek Varner led Northwood-Kensett with 15 while Sam Arnold added 13 and Christian Burnes 10 in the loss.

The Vikings are at Nashua-Plainfield Tuesday.
