I send a thank you out to foster families. You kindly opened your hearts and your homes to me during challenging years as a child. I brought a mixed bag of things to you, and I didn’t really appreciate your endeavors at the time. But observing a home filled with love and healthy parental role models became a ray of hope in my life.

As for your own children, I realize, too, that they had to share what perhaps was the most-cherished things to them with kids they didn’t even know or perhaps even want to know! Thanks for bearing with me anyway.
