Leo Carey Unit 56 met on Oct. 4. President Janet Scherb presided.

The meeting opened with the pledge of alligence and the singing of the Star Spangled Banner.

The 2010 Girls Staters were introduced. Ariana Guerra and Abby Barickman spoke on their week at Minnesota Girls State.

Secretary Vonnie Oftadahl and Treasurer Rita Andersen gave their reports.

Betty Anderson, National Security chairman, gave a report and several suggestions on being prepared for any emergency in the home.

Donations of $300 were made to the gift shop program for hospitalized veterans and the $5 bill shower.

Plans were discussed for the upcoming salad luncheon on Oct. 20. This is the Auxiliary’s semi-annual fund raising event.
