Bette Linde, 59, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Bette Kay Linde, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Dan Baker will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Bette died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at the Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 59 years of age.

Bette was born June 29, 1951, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Morris and Thelma (Lee) Linde. She was a graduate of Albert Lea High School and attended college in Minneapolis to be a barber. She was united in marriage to Eugene Lowe and later divorced.

Bette moved to the Minneapolis Metro area at the age of 18 and worked as a barber in the metro area. She also worked for a short time as a nanny in New York City. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, and the Calvary Lutheran Church in Golden Valley.

Early in life she spent time in Europe backpacking and loved to raise Shiatsu puppies. She enjoyed collecting anything “Bette Boop”, gardening and listening to Rod Stewart.

Bette is survived by her daughters: Harmony Lowe of Alden and Heather Lowe of Albert Lea; grandchildren include: Hayley, Sophia and Summer. There is one sister, Marlene Roberts of Northwood, Iowa, and two brothers: Ronald (Merriyln) Linde of Albert Lea and Gerald (Vicki) Linde of Albert Lea. There are several nieces and nephews.

Bette was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Lee and Gene Linde and one sister, Maureen Linde.
