Here are highlights in history for Oct. 13, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1985 — The Albert Lea Community Theatre was holding auditions for 20 roles played by adults and children, both actors and singers, as part of the future presentation of “I Remember Christmas.”
1975 — Several workers were painting the 250 wooden picnic tables owned by the City of Albert Lea before they were taken from the parks and put in storage for the winter.
1955 — The Minnesota Telephone Co. announced that dial telephones would be installed at Ellendale in a few weeks.
