Three Lake Mills/Northwood-Kensett wrestlers won their finals matchups Saturday at the Twin River Valley Invitational at Gilmore City as LMNK finished fourth overall in the seven-team field.

Spencer Capitani at 140, Royce Byrnes at 152 and 10th-ranked Jake Brekken at 215 advanced to the finals and won their matches to help give LMNK 144.5 points.

Battle Creek-Ida Grove/Odebolt-Arthur won the invite with 245.5 points while Clarion-Goldfield took second with 193 and Sheldon/South O’Brien was third with 175.

“I think we were more aggressive as a team than Thursday, and that is definitely a positive,” said LMNK head coach Alex Brandenburg. “The kids are trying hard to get better by being aggressive and trying new moves.”

Capitani pinned Jake Haberman in 1 minute, 25 seconds for a finals victory while Byrnes earned a 3-2 victory against Tanner Bengford and Brekken pinned Brandon Hodges at 1:38.

Cameron Batton finished third at 112 for LMNK while Logan Butler at 103, Junior Gallardo at 130, Calvin Beal at 135, Isaac Buffington at 145 and Levi Dahle at 189 all finished fourth in their weight classes.
