Lawmakers waste time each session

Researching what our state legislators have done the last two years, I was shocked to see they introduced 4,396 bills in the 2009-2010 regular sessions. Can anyone explain how our state senators and representatives can propose so may bills and not find a solution to eliminate a $6 billion state deficit? It is even more surprising they could not balance the budget when 87 Democrats versus 47 Republicans control the House, and in the Senate, there are 46 Democrats to 21 Republicans. With both houses of our state Legislature controlled by the Democrats, I think they could spent a little less time writing 4,396 bills for who knows what and a little more time balancing the budget. Isn’t it time to elect senators and representatives who will work to establish a budget that does not raise our taxes and will encourage new businesses to come to Minnesota to provide good employment for the people of Minnesota?
