My family, both the human kind and animal kind, are needing to find a new home in three weeks as the rental acreage that we are in has been sold. This is a pretty scary thing that we all may be without a home very soon.

One of the factors that comes up the most is that so many places do not accept pets. Well, as the director of our county Humane Society, I have pets. A lot of people have pets. I see it at the shelter often when people have to move they cannot take them with them so they turn to us to take them in. I understand the repercussions of having pets in a rental but I also understand the benefits to having pets for the people who are living there.

These guys are a part of my family and I’m sure that many others feel the same. Maybe the no pet stipulation should be looked at differently with things being the way they are economically with so many people losing their homes and now the tornado devastation.
