BLOOMINGTON (AP) — The parade of party all-stars appearing on behalf of Minnesota gubernatorial candidiates rolls on with ex-Massachussetts Gov. Mitt Romney at the fore.
Romney was scheduled to lead a rally and fundraiser Monday night for Republican nominee Tom Emmer and the state GOP. He is the third high-profile Republican to do so in the last month, following Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
On the Democratic side, Vice President Joe Biden and former President Bill Clinton have stood with the Democratic nominee for governor, Mark Dayton. President Barack Obama is due in Minneapolis on Saturday.
Polls show Dayton and Emmer in a close race with the Independence Party’s Tom Horner a distant third.
