Here are highlights in history for Oct. 22, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1983 — Two people were slightly injured when a truck hauling hogs overturned on Interstate 35 near the Geneva Exit. Of the 26 hogs on the truck, one was killed and several were injured in the accident.

1973 — Very few people attended the meet-the-candidates session sponsored by the Albert Lea League of Women Voters, according to a Tribune news article.

1953 — George Bagan, Alva Jensen and Dick Diekema were appointed to a committee to appraise property on South Newton Avenue for a new city parking lot.
