I got home today after a particularly rough day at work to the most amazing thing. A mysterious benefactor sent me $200 in iTunes gift cards, precisely the amount I needed for a rather expensive augmentative communication app for the iPad belonging to my autistic son, David.

David has been nonverbal his whole life and has had to rely on various other means to communicate with me. His iPad that we were recently able to purchase for him to use at home and school has been an invaluable tool in learning, but the one app that we really wanted for it, called proloquo2go, a communication app, has been a bit out of our reach due to the cost. There was no return address on the envelope, but the postmark was Albert Lea. I am unbelievably humbled and grateful and very teary-eyed at this amazing gesture of goodwill. My faith in humanity has definitely been repaired; I honestly didn’t think people like that existed anymore.

I have no idea who you are, but I have no adequate words to express my gratitude for your gift. Please know that it was received graciously and we thank you from the bottoms of our hearts, whoever you are.
