Companies spend on ads, not jobs?

There are no quick and easy answers to cutting government spending and creating jobs.  But the millions of dollars spent on attack ads this political season could have been put to better use creating permanent jobs.

Many countries have reduced government spending this year — Britain, China, Cuba, Greece, Spain, etc. — and the result is hundreds of thousands of people unemployed. Most of them have no hope of getting another job. The best advice they get is to create their own job.

This year anonymous individuals and companies are pouring millions of dollars into campaigns to buy votes or elections. This seems as corrupt and unethical as some elections in primitive countries that we hear about in the news.
