Performances will be for the “Touch of Broadway” shows at the Fairlane Building during fair week. Carrie Boyer Olvera will direct, and both boys and girls are needed.
Music will be Broadway songs that were written for children. Performances will be at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 1, 2 and 3 and at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. Aug. 4. For more information call 279-1014.
‘White Christmas’ auditions
The Lighthouse Event Center and the 17th Street Players are also holding auditions for a winter show, but those auditions will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 30 at the event center.
The show is “White Christmas” with performances at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7, 8, 14 and 15, with a 2 p.m. matinee Dec. 9. Director Gordy Handeland said they’ll even be building some walls on the stage and will have dancing on the main floor during the show.
“We’re excited for it,” Handeland said.
Handeland said that while it does seem early to be working on a Christmas show, there is already work to do. He’d like to get people confirmed for the show to start costume work and to make sure there are no scheduling conflicts with all the activities that happen around Christmastime.
“It’s a big cast so we’d like to get some people committed,” Handeland said.
