Two arrested for meth possession

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies, along with the assistance of agents from the South Central Drug Investigation Unit and officers from the Albert Lea Police Department, arrested two people on Monday for methamphetamine possession after conducting search warrants at two Albert Lea residences.
According to a Sheriff’s Office news release, a 22-year-old woman was arrested for second-degree meth possession and a 33-year-old man was arrested for fifth-degree meth possession.
The release states warrants were served at an address on Hope Lane and an address on Ruble Street, both in Albert Lea.
At the Hope Lane address, deputies found over 1/2 ounce of meth, $681 in cash, scales, baggies, meth pipes and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.
At the Ruble Street addres, deputies found meth pipes and a snort tube that tested positive for meth, along with a digital scale.
The addresses and the names of the two people arrested were not available as of press time.
Both are expected to appear in Freeborn County District Court on the charges today.
