Alpha Orthodontics, 1651 W. Main St, Albert Lea, will host Smiles Change Lives candy exchange from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday.

This free event is to encourage kids of the community to think about healthier alternatives to candy and become more aware on the importance of oral health. This event will benefit Smiles Change Lives, a national orthodontic charity that provides affordable braces for kids from low-income families in the community.

The candy exchange allows trick-or-treaters to surrender some of their Halloween candy in exchange for cash. Alpha Orthodontics will give $1 for each pound donated. The Albert Lea American Legion will help to deliver the candy to troops overseas.
