Exciting activities were still happening during the last few days of classes at Albert Lea High School.

Students in Robin Brown’s eighth grade animals in art class spent an hour on a beautiful Friday morning drawing horses from life.

Teacher Kim Meyer brought the horses for his small animal class. This is an example of some of the wonderful collaboration that happens every day between teachers in the Albert Lea Schools.

Tunnel of success, notes encourage students at Halverson Elem.

Halverson Elementary took advantage of MCA time to review all the skills and strategies taught throughout the year and help students learn test-taking strategies.

The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment is given to elementary students every April in both reading and math in grades three through five.

This year the three grades pumped each other up to inspire everyone to do their best. Every student was even given a handwritten note by a staff member to foster a sense of community and encouragement.

As the third-graders took the test for their first time, fourth- and fifth-graders really stepped up to the plate to show their support.

Creating posters and a “tunnel of success” on test days illustrated just how caring the students and staff are at Halverson Elementary.
