A Murtaugh vote is a vote for a new slate

I’m still voting for Mike Murtaugh for a choice. If enough people still vote for Mayor Murtaugh, he can turn the position down and then there would need to be another election where the citizens would actually have a choice. That’s what democracy is about.
If Vern Rasmussen gets in it will be the same ole same ole.
Did you know:
1. Rasmussen got his mom, Kay, a fill-in position when the administraive assistant in the manager’s office was gone this summer?
2. Rasmussen’s brother is married to Mrs. Gerry’s (Vogt) daughter. No wonder Vern was so interested in not having sewer rates go up too much for industrial users and giving Wedgewood Cove whatever they want.
3. What do you think Vern as mayor will do about that issue that he helped create by voting to subsidize Greg Moen’s housing (Tiger Hills) development, which had led to the $58,000 question. How is that going anyways, council, or was that just another financial mistake that we were all supposed to forget?
Vern Rasmussen is part of the ongoing problem we have seen in Albert Lea politics for too long. We need someone who will be able to stand up and say “no” when it’s needed, vote in support of the citizens and leave nepotism out of the circle. I haven’t seen that from Rasmussen.
I urge citizens to vote for Murtaugh, but not because he doesn’t want to be mayor nor out of disrespecting his wishes. Vote for Murtaugh so we as citizens have a choice in the mayoral race.
