Here are highlights in history for Nov. 4, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1988 — A program by a trio of musicians from Latvia would be presented at Salem Lutheran Church. One of the members of the trio was a nephew of John Polis of Albert Lea who had left Latvia with his parents during World War II.
1978 — The Ink Spots would be appearing Nov. 6 through 11 at Thor’s Side Door, the entertainment and bar portion of Albert Lea’s Holiday Inn on East Main Street.
1958 — Mrs. Adeline Muri became the new Freeborn County nurse, replacing Sylvia Blom.
